It’s almost that time again; fall is right around the corner time for that feeling of the crisp fall air, watching the leaves changing colors and no humidity! Let us not forget our sweaters and boots, moto jackets and jeans that we are craving to pull out of the closet. What’s even better September 1st Pumpkin Spice Lattes will be back at our favorite local coffee shop! On top of all of that, I know some of you might be like myself and look forward to some of the most fantastic books that are available at this time of the year.
I am not an author, though my life could be a great novel, believe me….. My writing skills are a little shaky still to this day even after taking what seems to have been thousands of English, writing ,and communications classes, I still have moments that I still feel that I suck at it , but it’s a work in progress right ?LOL. The one thing I will say is I start going gaga over the new book section at local Barnes& Noble’s and on Amazon ;because this is the time of the year when I am ready to cozy up next to a nice warm fire. Wrapped in my afghan that I happily acquired from the local thrift store, with my warm fuzzy slippers and a nice cup of hot cocoa. If I’m lucky enough, and it’s still open, I will grab myself Venti Pumpkin Spice Latte from my Starbucks that’s right across the street to sip on while I read my favorite books that I picked up this season.
Here my top four books that I have chosen for this year some of them are the most motivational one I have already started reading. Other’s will get your heart racing from the suspense. Some are just about life and learning to make goals, while one will help you get over your fears and bring you right out of your comfort zone.
The first book I have to talk about honestly is one that I found is the most motivational book I have ever read ( Which now I have read twice). And that, of course, is Jessica Bakers a.k.a. The Militant Baker, Things No one Will tell a Fat girl :A handbook to unapologetic living. This book is freaking amazing it has made me open my eyes ,my heart, and my mind especially with how much the world of fashion, health, and mental health has changed our outlook on the body positivity. Now I’m going say my age because nobody would believe me in the first place, but I will say women and girls of all ages and body types need to read this book. It has helped me to see myself in a better positive light if you have not checked it out yet you need to.
The second book is The Butterfly Garden it just recently came out in June of 2016; by Dot Hutchinson. This novel is about a young woman who was kidnapped along with a few other twist throughout the novel. Its based around a beautiful garden that surrounds this home discovered by FBI agents Victoria and Brando. They have the task of putting pieces together; to figure out this terrific tell of survivors that have held old grudges and new survivors that have horrific ones. A man that will take any length to hold “beauty” captive in this beautiful garden. I don’t want to give too much away, but this book will keep you reading.
My third book is by Sandy Sharma, and this is Volume 2 of her self-development and motivational books. It’s called Love your Imperfections: Build self-esteem. This book will make you learn to love your flaws mostly in today’s world since everybody has an opinion about one another. Sharma, explains about our weaknesses and our feelings of our imperfections and help raise our self-esteem to become the better person that we are. She gives you adequate guidelines on public speaking and how to challenge yourself to accomplish your life goals. It’s just an amazing book that helps you discover your path and harness all of your imperfections and your happiness because you are a bad ass and an individual. Also, check out her first book Master Self-discipline in Nine steps it’s freaking amazing!
My last and final book are, Behind Closed Doors by B.A. Paris, this is a psychological thriller ;which I do not read this types of a book often, but expanding myself a little with reading something different. When I read the insert, it reminded me of the movie Sleeping with the Enemy. Here is just a synopsis from the inside of the cover of the book. The best way to put it is sometimes we look at others relationships and think that they have a perfect marriage, but sometimes it can be an absolute mirage. I don’t want to give away too much of this book; Grace thinks she has found the perfect man Jack he takes her to fancy dinner dates, is handsome, and well-mannered. This perfect couple life is written in the past and present in this book I cannot wait to read this and see how it evolves.
Hope you enjoyed my list of my top four books for this fall and me hopefully you enjoy reading them, please feel free to leave a comment below and let me know what you thought of the books that I had picked out for this year.
